Skribblez You might've noticed. There are no more cwalking tutorials in the "cwalk tutorials" forum. I'm planning to do a bit of a 'clean up' with regards to PMW's tutorials.
I've already removed a few videos/tutorials from YouTube, and you might've noticed the number of videos on PMW's account went from 94 down to 77. There is still alot more cleaning up to be done.
So, what's going to happen to the cwalk tutorials forum?I'm working on making a few changes to this section of the forum, most probably tomorrow, because I'm about to go to sleep.
- Only basic tutorials will be posted in the cwalk tutorials forum. Our basic tutorials will not only have video's explaining the moves, but most probably also detailed text explanation, and maybe even pictures to assist, basically anything and everything to help people master the basics, because in the end, that's really all that matters.
- Unncessary advanced tutorials will be taken down. The rest that are left, common advanced moves (heel toe combo, etc.) will be linked to via a pinned topic.
- Members will no longer be able to post topics in this section, so as to avoid cluttering/spam, and to only allow official PimpMyWalk.com tutorials to be posted.
Reasoning:These tutorials are being taken down because of complaints, etc. and because of the general fact that it doesn't contribute anything to the cwalk - I never really gave much thought to the outcome of uploading random advanced tutorials, or cared that much about whatever happens to the cwalk (lol), but this is how I see it now:
I think alot of people are sloppy/unoriginal/repetitive these days, not because they're beginners, or just plain inexperienced, but because they chose to move on to more advanced things too early/quickly, and learn anything and everything they can to make their walk look better, without actually giving enough time to mastering the basics.
The basics is really all that matters I guess.
How many people can do heel toes as good as ceewok these days? (you might not agree with me, but I think his heeltoes are nice.)But meh, just like with anything else in life, everyone has a choice - you either learn the basics from tutorials and that's that, or you pick up some more advanced moves by watching advanced tutorials. Although I am already taking unnecessary advanced tutorials down, you can't really put the blame entirely on the tutorials, I guess. Everyone's responsible for their own walk, IMO. At the end of the day, your walk is what YOU make it out to be.
I'm saying this, because even after I take PMW's unnecessary advanced tutorials down, people will STILL keep making tutorials that aren't needed.. I mean look how many other people on YouTube make unnecessary advanced tutorials, lol.
Conclusion:Don't mind what I said above. I'm up late, and I will probably wake up tomorrow wondering if I even made any sense up there.
Main point though: Watch tutorials while you still can. Some major changes underway.
Ps. Please don't flame me. I am already taking tutorials down as requested/suggested, so there is no need for more complaining/flaming. I will only reply to posts that are made out maturely.
Anything else will most likely be ignored, lol.
